To Bethlehem

Luke 2

In those days, a law was passed that everyone must travel to their home-towns to have their names written down. Although Mary was almost ready to have herbaby, she and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem, which was also called the city of David.

After a long, tiring journey, they finally reached the small town. Mary knew it was time for God's Son to be born, and she was very weary from traveling and wanted a place to rest. But many people bustled through the crowded streets—they too had come to record their names. And although Joseph searched the whole town, he could not find a room for them to stay in.
