“The Kingdom Is Near”
John 3:1-18

There has been much discussion about how to make

it to Heaven. Many teach that we must be good. Others teach that you just need to believe in something. These people also teach that whether you call Allah god or whoever, that it is all the same.

One night, over 2000 years ago, a man asked Jesus what it took to get into Heaven. Look with me in John 3 as we find out how a person can get a ticket to Heaven.

The Birth (John 3:1-7)

Nicodemus came to Jesus to try figure out exactly who He was, but instead of focusing on that, Jesus focused on what was the most important. Jesus used something that is familiar to everyone, birth.

Now, we can see how sin blinds us to spiritual things because Nicodemus could not see past the physical. Just as we must be born physically in order to be given life, we must also be born spiritually to be given eternal life.

This just didn’t make since to Nicodemus. By the way, Nicodemus was very well educated in the Law.

Nicodemus was being told several things that still apply to lost people today. It doesn’t matter how religious you are. It doesn’t matter what family and race of people you are born into. It doesn’t even matter how much of the Bible you can recite.

What matters is: Without Jesus as your Savior, you are spiritually dead and you need to be born of the Spirit of God in order to be given spiritual life.

If you have never really accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, would you do it right now? Do not delay or put it off. If you would like to receive Christ by faith, pray this simple prayer in your heart:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died for my sins on the cross, and rose again the third day. I repent of my sins. By faith I receive the Lord Jesus as my Savior. You promised to save me, and I believe You, because You are God and cannot lie. I believe right now that the Lord Jesus is my personal Savior, and that all my sins are forgiven through His precious blood. I thank You, dear Lord, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
